In short

TrendSpider costs $59 to $349 per month for its four consumer tiers, and which end of that range you land on depends on the billing term as much as the tier. Billed annually it is $54 for Standard, $91 for Premium, $122 for Enhanced and $214 for Advanced. Month to month the same tiers are $82, $137, $183 and $321. Business starts at $399 per month. Each tier opens with a paid 14-day trial rather than a free one: $19, $29, $39 and $49 respectively. Two things about this pricing get reported wrong almost everywhere. First, review sites quote $89, $149, $199 and $349, which is the undiscounted monthly band TrendSpider also shows on the page, so a comparison built on those numbers overstates the real cost by roughly 8 to 10%. Second, and this is the one that changes a buying decision: Sidekick, the AI assistant TrendSpider markets heavily, is a separate subscription. Every plan includes 25 AI messages per month, and going beyond that costs $49, $129 or $349 per month on top of the base plan. A trader who wants TrendSpider plus 300 AI messages a month is therefore looking at $183 to $211 per month, not $54. Backtesting is included on every tier, but the depth is rationed: Standard caps you at 2-hour bars, 2,000 bars of history and 50 symbols per test, and only Advanced reaches 1-minute bars, 30,000 bars and 510 symbols. A $39 per month add-on lifts Standard and Premium to 20,000 bars. Whether it is worth it comes down to how often you trade. TrendSpider is priced for someone who is in charts daily and will use the automated trendlines, multi-timeframe analysis and condition builder every session. If you test an idea occasionally and want a plain-English verdict rather than a charting platform, that is a different and much cheaper purchase, and AgentTrading starts at $19 per month for exactly that one job. SIDE BY SIDE - PRICING CHECKED AUGUST 2026

Every TrendSpider tier and add-on, with the number that actually bills you

Read off trendspider.com/pricing on August 16, 2026. The first figure in each price cell is the month-to-month rate, the second is the effective monthly rate when you pay for a year up front. TrendSpider also displays an undiscounted band ($59 to $89 for Standard, and so on up the range), which is the source of the higher numbers you will see quoted in reviews. The limitation column is the part that decides whether a tier can run the test you have in mind.

Tool Best for Price (August 2026) The honest limitation
Standard Swing traders on daily and 2-hour charts $89/mo, or $59 annually Backtests stop at 2-hour bars, 2,000 bars of history and 50 symbols per test. 10 alerts.
Premium Active traders who need intraday testing $149/mo, or $99 annually Backtests stop at 5-minute bars and 10,000 bars of history. 150 symbols per test, 50 alerts.
Enhanced Day traders testing 1-minute rules $199/mo, or $133 annually Priced for daily use. 250 symbols per test and 100 alerts is a real ceiling for a scanner-heavy workflow.
Advanced Full-time traders running wide scans $349/mo, or $233 annually The steepest jump in the range for depth and volume rather than new features.
Business Firms, trading desks and multi-seat teams From $399/mo Quoted rather than listed, so the real number depends on seats and terms.
Sidekick AI (add-on) The AI features TrendSpider markets, metered Free tier; $49, $129 or $349/mo Sold separately from your plan. 25 messages a month is the allowance on every paid tier.

Standard

Swing traders on daily and 2-hour charts

The entry tier, and the one most people should price first. It carries the full feature set: automated trendlines, dynamic price alerts, multi-timeframe analysis, raindrop charts and the strategy tester. What it rations is depth. A 2,000-bar history at 2-hour resolution is roughly a year and a half of market hours, which is enough to sanity-check a setup and nowhere near enough to put a rule through a real bear market. If you want a longer record on this tier, the backtest-depth add-on takes you to 20,000 bars for $39 per month, which puts the true cost at $93 annually or $121 month to month, and at that point Premium is worth comparing. The 14-day trial is $19.

Premium

Active traders who need intraday testing

The first tier that can test an intraday idea honestly, dropping the minimum backtest timeframe from 2 hours to 5 minutes and lifting history to 10,000 bars and 150 symbols per test. For most people who trade several times a week this is the natural home, and the annual rate of $91 is the figure worth anchoring on rather than the $137 month-to-month. The same $39 depth add-on applies here and lifts you to 20,000 bars, so if you find yourself adding it, run the arithmetic against Enhanced, which includes that depth and 1-minute bars for $122 annually. The 14-day trial is $29.

Enhanced

Day traders testing 1-minute rules

Where the backtesting genuinely gets serious: 1-minute minimum timeframe, 20,000 bars of depth and 250 symbols per test, with 100 alerts. If you day trade and you intend to test rules rather than eyeball them, this is the first tier that will not fight you, and it includes the depth that Standard and Premium charge $39 a month to reach. The judgement call is usage. At $122 a month billed annually you are spending $1,464 a year, which needs to buy either real time savings or a decision you would otherwise get wrong. Someone who opens the platform twice a week is overpaying by a wide margin. The 14-day trial is $39.

Advanced

Full-time traders running wide scans

The top consumer tier: 30,000 bars of backtest history, 510 symbols per test and 400 alerts. Note what you are actually buying, because it is easy to misread. Every tier already includes the whole feature set, so Advanced is not unlocking tools that Standard lacks. You are paying for volume and depth, and the step from Enhanced to Advanced is the largest in the range at $92 a month annually. That is justified if you scan hundreds of symbols and run wide tests as a matter of routine, and hard to justify otherwise. At $2,568 a year billed annually, this is a professional expense and should be judged like one. The 14-day trial is $49.

Business

Firms, trading desks and multi-seat teams

The commercial tier for teams, funds, educators and anyone redistributing what the platform produces. TrendSpider lists a starting point of $399 per month and routes the rest through sales, so the figure you end up paying depends on seat count, data redistribution rights and contract length. As with every quoted-price product, treat $399 as a floor rather than an estimate. If you are comparing this against enterprise research platforms, the useful contrast is that several of those publish no starting price at all.

Sidekick AI (add-on)

The AI features TrendSpider markets, metered

The single most misunderstood line on TrendSpider's price list, and the one worth checking before you subscribe. Sidekick is the AI market analyst and trading assistant, and it is not bundled into Standard, Premium, Enhanced or Advanced in any meaningful volume. Every plan comes with 25 AI messages per month. Beyond that it is a separate subscription: Basic at $49 per month for 100 messages, Plus at $129 for 300 messages with access to a wider set of models, and Max at $349 for 1,000 messages. This matters because the AI is a headline reason people shortlist TrendSpider in the first place. A Standard subscriber who wants 300 messages a month is paying $54 plus $129, which is $183 per month, more than triple the price they were comparing against other platforms.

WHAT YOU GET - TRENDSPIDER PRICING

TrendSpider pricing, run on the bench

The number you compare is rarely the number you pay

Four tiers times two billing terms, plus a discounted and an undiscounted band, plus four trial fees, plus three add-ons, plus a separately metered AI. That is at least twenty published figures for one product, which is precisely why "how much does TrendSpider cost" is a search query rather than a glance at a page.

The AI is metered, and almost no review says so

Every TrendSpider plan includes 25 Sidekick messages per month. Real use costs $49, $129 or $349 on top. If the AI assistant is why you are shortlisting the platform, add that line to your comparison before you decide, because it can triple the monthly figure you had in mind.

Backtest depth is the spec that decides your tier

Features are identical across tiers. What changes is the minimum bar interval, how many bars of history a test can reach, and how many symbols it can cover. Standard tops out at 2-hour bars and 2,000 bars, which will not carry a rule through a full market cycle. Pick the tier by the test you need, not the feature list.

Where we lose, stated plainly

AgentTrading is not a charting platform and does not try to be. No automated trendlines, no raindrop charts, no live scanning, no alerts, no execution, no 1-minute bars. We test one rule you can state in a sentence, on 20+ years of adjusted daily data, and stamp a verdict including UNDERPERFORMED. If you live in charts every day, TrendSpider is the better purchase and we would rather say so.

HOW IT WORKS - 4 STEPS

From a sentence to a stamped verdict

01

Start from the bar interval you actually trade

Daily and 2-hour swing rules fit Standard. Intraday rules need 5-minute bars, which starts at Premium. One-minute testing starts at Enhanced. This single question eliminates most of the range before you look at a price.

02

Check the history depth that interval needs

A 2,000-bar cap at 2-hour resolution is about eighteen months of market hours. Twenty years of daily bars is roughly 5,000. If your rule needs to survive a bear market, price the depth add-on at $39 a month or move up a tier.

03

Decide about the AI before you subscribe, not after

Twenty-five Sidekick messages a month is a trial allowance, not a working budget. If you will use it, add $49, $129 or $349 to whatever tier you picked and compare that total against alternatives.

04

Pick the billing term with eyes open

Annual billing saves roughly a third: $54 against $82 on Standard, $214 against $321 on Advanced. It also commits you for a year to a platform whose learning curve you may not have cleared yet. The $19 to $49 paid trial exists for that reason.

On the same bench

If you are weighing the platform rather than the price, the honest side-by-side is on the TrendSpider alternative page, and the eleven-platform field including the free options your broker may already include is on backtesting software. The two comparisons people run against TrendSpider most often are the TradingView alternative, which is cheaper and needs Pine Script for real tests, and the Trade Ideas alternative, which has the same AI-costs-extra pattern in a different shape and its own tier-by-tier breakdown in Trade Ideas pricing. For the wider budget question, how much stock analysis software costs explains why one category spans $19 to $399 a month. On the testing side, a single name goes through stock backtesting, a basket through portfolio backtesting, and the depth question these tiers ration is exactly the one answered in how long you should backtest a trading strategy. Before paying for any of it, is backtesting accurate sets expectations honestly. Plans start at $19 a month.

QUESTIONS - ASKED AND ANSWERED

TrendSpider pricing: the common questions

How much does TrendSpider cost?

TrendSpider costs $59 to $349 per month depending on tier and billing term. Billed annually: Standard $54, Premium $91, Enhanced $122, Advanced $214. Month to month: $82, $137, $183 and $321. Business starts at $399 per month. Trials are 14 days for $19 to $49, and the Sidekick AI assistant is billed separately.

How much is TrendSpider per month?

The cheapest way in is $54 per month for Standard billed annually, and the most expensive consumer tier is $321 per month for Advanced billed month to month. Most active traders land on Premium or Enhanced, which is $91 to $122 per month billed annually. Add $49 to $349 per month if you want real use of the Sidekick AI.

Is TrendSpider worth it?

It is worth it if you are in charts most days and will use the automated trendlines, multi-timeframe analysis and condition builder regularly. At $59 to $349 per month the platform has to replace real work or prevent a real mistake. Someone who tests an idea a few times a month will not recover the cost, and a broker tool or a single-rule bench will serve them better.

Does TrendSpider have a free trial?

No. TrendSpider uses paid trials rather than free ones: 14 days for $19 on Standard, $29 on Premium, $39 on Enhanced and $49 on Advanced. The fee is one time and the trial converts to the ongoing rate afterwards. This is unusual in the category, where free trials are the norm, and it is worth budgeting for.

Is TrendSpider free?

There is no free plan. The lowest ongoing cost is $54 per month on Standard billed annually, and the lowest cost to try it at all is the $19 paid 14-day trial. If you need a genuinely free way to backtest, TradingView runs its Strategy Tester on the free plan, QuantConnect offers unlimited backtests on a free tier if you code, and Fidelity and TradeStation include strategy testing with a funded account.

Which TrendSpider plan do I need for backtesting?

Every tier includes backtesting, so the question is really how deep a test you need. Standard reaches 2-hour bars, 2,000 bars of history and 50 symbols per test. Premium reaches 5-minute bars and 10,000 bars. Enhanced reaches 1-minute bars and 20,000 bars. Advanced reaches 30,000 bars and 510 symbols. A $39 per month add-on lifts Standard and Premium to 20,000 bars.

Is Sidekick AI included with TrendSpider?

Only in a token amount. Every TrendSpider plan includes 25 Sidekick AI messages per month, which is enough to evaluate the feature and not enough to work with. Paid Sidekick plans are $49 per month for 100 messages, $129 for 300 messages with access to more models, and $349 for 1,000 messages, billed on top of your base subscription.

Why do review sites quote different TrendSpider prices?

Because TrendSpider publishes several numbers for the same tier. Its pricing page shows a discounted pair, $82 month to month against $54 annually for Standard, alongside an undiscounted band of $59 to $89. Reviews pick whichever figure they saw, and older reviews still carry the pre-2026 rates of $89 and $59. Always check the billing term attached to any number you are comparing.

Is TrendSpider cheaper than TradingView?

No, TradingView is substantially cheaper. TradingView runs $14.95 to $239.95 per month with a free tier that includes the Strategy Tester, against $59 to $349 for TrendSpider with no free tier. The trade is that meaningful TradingView backtesting requires writing Pine Script, while TrendSpider's condition builder needs no code. You are paying TrendSpider for the no-code path.

Can you cancel TrendSpider?

Yes, subscriptions can be cancelled, and the practical consideration is the billing term rather than the process. A month-to-month plan is the flexible option at roughly a 50% premium over the annual rate. An annual plan is paid up front for the year, so the saving comes with a commitment made before you know whether the condition builder suits how you think. Check the current terms with TrendSpider directly.
