OptionStrat pricing for Live Tools and Live Flow, with the annual cost
OptionStrat sells two paid tiers, Live Tools and Live Flow, on monthly or annual billing, next to a free tier on 15-minute delayed data. The prices sit on a membership screen rather than a pricing page, and the plan names hide the one question that decides the bill: do you need the options flow, or only live prices and greeks on trades you build yourself.

In short
OptionStrat costs $39.99 a month for Live Tools and $99.99 a month for Live Flow, or $419.99 and $999.99 a year on annual billing ($35.00 and $83.33 a month). Both paid tiers start with a one-time 7-day free trial, and OptionStrat offers no full or partial refunds after it. Live Tools includes the whole strategy builder and optimizer on live data. Live Flow adds the flow features: saved filters, alerts, historical flow search, the live newsfeed and congress and insider trades. The free tier runs on 15-minute delayed data. AgentTrading is not a replacement for either. It backtests an options rule, such as a monthly covered call, across 20+ years on the Analyst plan at $99 a month, bought online, with no execution, no brokerage connection and no personalized advice.

EVERY PRICE AND TERM, QUOTED FROM OPTIONSTRAT
OptionStrat pricing as OptionStrat states it, and what it means for your bill
Every row is quoted from OptionStrat's membership screen, FAQ or terms of service. Where we computed a figure rather than read it, the row says so.
| Question a buyer asks | What OptionStrat states | Where it is stated | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| How much is Live Tools? | "$39.99/mo", or "$35.00/mo (billed at $419.99/yr)" | Membership screen, both toggles | $479.88 a year on monthly billing, so annual saves $59.89 (our arithmetic). |
| How much is Live Flow? | "$99.99/mo", or "$83.33/mo (billed at $999.99/yr)" | Membership screen, both toggles | $1,199.88 a year on monthly billing, so annual saves $199.89 (our arithmetic). |
| How much does annual billing save? | "Save 12%!" | Membership screen, billing toggle | True for Live Tools at 12.5%. Live Flow saves 16.7% (our arithmetic). |
| Is there a free tier? | "Delayed data and limited access to each feature." | Membership screen, Free column | Builder works, but chance of profit and net greeks are hidden. |
| Is there a free trial? | "A one time 7 day free trial to new customers" | FAQ, billing questions | One trial per customer. Use it on the tier you expect to keep. |
| Can I get a refund? | "We do not offer full or partial refunds" | FAQ, billing questions | An annual plan is spent the day you pay it. |
| What happens if I cancel? | "You will be able to use your subscription even after cancelling for the remainder of the billing cycle" | FAQ, billing questions | Cancelling stops renewal, not access. |
| Can I switch plans? | Upgrade or downgrade "without cancelling and the amount will be pro-rated" | FAQ, billing questions | Start on Live Tools and move up only if you use flow. |
| Where do I manage the subscription? | "You can only manage your subscription from the platform you purchased it from" | FAQ, billing questions | Bought in the app, cancelled through your Apple or Google account. |
| Is the data real time? | "Data is delayed 15 minutes by default, but live auto-updating data can be purchased" | FAQ, general questions | Both paid tiers buy live options prices. |
| Are futures live? | "Due to licensing restrictions, futures data is always 15-minutes delayed" | FAQ, strategy builder questions | No tier gives live /ES or /NQ prices. |
| Is anything else required for live data? | You "must agree to additional terms presented in our subscriber agreement" | Terms of service, section 2.3 | You declare professional or non-professional status at signup. |

On the same bench
OptionStrat is a browser and mobile tool for options traders with three parts: a strategy builder that draws the profit and loss of a multi-leg trade, an optimizer that searches for trades matching a price target, and an unusual options flow feed. We opened its membership screen on October 19, 2026 in a rendered browser, switched the billing toggle between monthly and annual, and read its FAQ answers and terms of service the same day. Prices and quotes below come from those screens. Where a number is our arithmetic, we say so.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Per month on annual | Twelve months on monthly billing | Annual saving |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | $0 | $0 | None |
| Live Tools | $39.99 | $419.99 | $35.00 | $479.88 | $59.89, or 12.5% |
| Live Flow | $99.99 | $999.99 | $83.33 | $1,199.88 | $199.89, or 16.7% |
The last two columns are ours. The billing toggle advertises "Save 12%", which matches Live Tools and understates Live Flow, where annual billing saves closer to a sixth. Both paid tiers offer a 7-day trial, and the free tier is described as "Delayed data and limited access to each feature."
How much does OptionStrat cost?
OptionStrat costs $39.99 a month for Live Tools and $99.99 a month for Live Flow. On annual billing the same tiers are $419.99 and $999.99 a year, shown as $35.00 and $83.33 a month. There is also a free tier on delayed data. Prices are the same on the web and in the iOS and Android apps as far as the screen shows, and a subscription bought on one works on all of them.
The gap between the tiers is the number to think about. Live Flow costs 2.5 times Live Tools on monthly billing and about 2.4 times on annual billing. That is $720 a year more on monthly billing and $580 a year more on annual billing, by our arithmetic. One small clue that the price has moved: a customer quote shown on OptionStrat's own membership screen mentions "the live flow subscription for $50 a month", about half today's monthly rate. We could not date the quote, so treat it as a hint rather than a price history.
OptionStrat Live Tools vs Live Flow
The plan grid splits cleanly into two halves. Everything in the strategy builder and optimizer comes with Live Tools. Everything that makes the flow feed useful is Live Flow only.
| Feature, as OptionStrat names it | Live Flow | Live Tools | Free |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live options flow | Yes | Limited | Limited |
| Saved filters | Yes | No | No |
| Alerts on matching trades, mobile and web | Yes | No | No |
| Performance tracking of each alert | Yes | No | No |
| Historical searching of past flow | Yes | No | No |
| Live newsfeed | Yes | No | No |
| Congress and insider trades | Yes | No | No |
| Live prices in the builder and optimizer | Yes | Yes | Delayed |
| Market events and news on a trade | Yes | Yes | No |
| Volume overlay by strike | Yes | Yes | No |
| Chance of profit | Yes | Yes | No |
| Net greeks for multi-leg trades | Yes | Yes | No |
| IV per expiration and IV history | Yes | Yes | No |
| Saved strategy tracking, exportable | Yes | Yes | No |
| Commissions in calculations | Yes | Yes | No |
| Private Discord chat | Yes | Yes | No |
| Futures, 15-minute delayed | Yes | Yes | No |
Read from the grid as OptionStrat displays it on October 19, 2026. "No" means the cell is empty on the grid.
Which OptionStrat plan you actually need
Ask one question. Do you plan trades you already have in mind, or do you want the market to hand you ideas? If you come to OptionStrat with a ticker and a structure, say a put credit spread on a name you follow, Live Tools gives you everything that matters for that job: live prices, chance of profit, net greeks across all legs, IV you can adjust per expiration, commissions in the math and tracking of the trades you save. That is $419.99 a year on annual billing.
Live Flow is for a different trader, one who watches large and unusual prints during the session and wants to filter them, be alerted when a print matches the filter, and look back at what the flow did on previous days. The newsfeed and congress and insider trades come with it. If you will not open the flow page most trading days, the extra $580 a year buys features you will not use. If you will, compare it with a dedicated flow service first. Unusual Whales lists Retail Basic at $50 a month, or $504 a year on annual billing, and our Unusual Whales review sets out which of its tiers fits which trader. Cheddar Flow, the other large flow service, starts at $85 a month, and its Pro Annual plan is $891 a year; see Cheddar Flow pricing.
The free tier is enough to learn the builder. The payoff diagram works, but prices are 15 minutes old and chance of profit and net greeks are hidden, which are the two numbers most people upgrade for.
Annual or monthly billing on OptionStrat
Monthly, unless you have already used it for a while. OptionStrat's FAQ is plain about refunds: "We do not offer full or partial refunds, but you may cancel your subscription at any time to stop future payments." Cancelling keeps access until the end of the billing cycle, and "We cannot refund the unused portion of your subscription." So an annual Live Flow plan is a $999.99 commitment the day you pay it, and the 7-day trial is the only window to decide. The FAQ calls it "a one time 7 day free trial to new customers".
Two smaller terms matter. You can upgrade or downgrade "without cancelling and the amount will be pro-rated", so starting on Live Tools and moving up later costs nothing extra. And you can only manage a subscription "from the platform you purchased it from": buy in the iPhone app and cancellation goes through your Apple account, not the website. The terms of service add that billing recurs automatically until you cancel.
What OptionStrat data is live and what stays delayed
OptionStrat says it is "a licensed OPRA vendor", the same options feed brokers receive. Data is "delayed 15 minutes by default, but live auto-updating data can be purchased", which is what both paid tiers buy. Futures are the exception: "Due to licensing restrictions, futures data is always 15-minutes delayed", on every tier. If you trade /ES or /NQ options intraday, no OptionStrat plan gives you live futures prices.
Live data also comes with paperwork. The terms say that to access live data "you must agree to additional terms presented in our subscriber agreement upon signing up for live data". That is the exchange subscriber agreement, where you state whether you are a professional or non-professional user. We did not see what OptionStrat charges a professional user, so if you work at a registered firm, ask before you subscribe. Our non-professional subscriber page explains the definition and how other research vendors price it. The terms also forbid sharing an account and redistributing the price data.
What the OptionStrat price does not buy
Three things, and each one is stated by OptionStrat itself. It is not a broker: "We are not a brokerage and trades cannot be executed through our software." Its numbers are model estimates: the FAQ says the calculator is "unable to account for all market conditions and events", that entry cost defaults to the mid of the bid and ask without brokerage fees, and that earnings and ex-dividend dates are shown but "not accounted for in the calculation". And it does not backtest. The builder shows how a trade could behave from today forward, and a saved trade is tracked from the day you save it. We found no feature on its features page or plan grid that runs a rule over past years.
That last gap is where many options traders get caught. A covered call or a short put looks attractive on a payoff diagram almost every time, because the diagram shows one trade at one moment. Whether selling a 30-delta call every month on the same stock has beaten simply holding it is a different question, and only history answers it. Our options backtesting runs that kind of rule across 20+ years with costs on every trade, and the covered call backtest page shows the shape of the result. If you want the raw chains instead, historical options data compares what the data vendors charge. For a fuller view of the product beyond its price, read our OptionStrat review.
Who should pay for OptionStrat, and who should not
Pay for Live Tools if you trade multi-leg options and want an accurate, fast picture of a position before you place it at your broker. Its American-style pricing model and the net greeks are genuinely useful, and $35 a month on annual billing is modest for that. Pay for Live Flow only if reading flow is part of your daily process. Skip both if you hold long-term positions and adjust a few times a year, because the free tier draws the same diagrams on prices that are 15 minutes old.
And if the question you are trying to answer is whether a strategy works at all, rather than how today's trade looks, test the rule first. That takes one sentence on the Analyst plan at $99 a month, and it costs less than the month you would spend trading the idea to find out.
QUESTIONS - ASKED AND ANSWERED
OptionStrat pricing questions and answers
How much does OptionStrat cost?
OptionStrat costs $39.99 a month for Live Tools and $99.99 a month for Live Flow on monthly billing. On annual billing they are $419.99 and $999.99 a year, which works out to $35.00 and $83.33 a month. A free tier runs on 15-minute delayed data with limited features.
Is OptionStrat free?
Partly. OptionStrat has a free tier with delayed data and limited access to each feature, so you can build strategies and see payoff diagrams at no cost. Live prices, chance of profit, net greeks and the full options flow require a paid tier at $39.99 or $99.99 a month.
Does OptionStrat have a free trial?
Yes. OptionStrat offers a one-time 7-day free trial to new customers on its paid tiers. Since it does not give refunds afterwards, the trial is the only time to decide, so use it on the tier you expect to keep and on the trades you actually place.
Does OptionStrat offer refunds?
No. OptionStrat's FAQ says it does not offer full or partial refunds. You can cancel at any time to stop future payments and keep access until the end of the billing cycle, but the unused part of a monthly or annual subscription is not refunded.
What is the difference between OptionStrat Live Tools and Live Flow?
Live Tools includes the full strategy builder and optimizer on live data, with chance of profit, net greeks, IV tools, commissions and saved-trade tracking. Live Flow adds everything in the options flow: saved filters, alerts, alert tracking, historical flow search, the live newsfeed and congress and insider trades.
Is OptionStrat worth it?
Live Tools is worth it for an active options trader who plans multi-leg trades, at $35 a month on annual billing. Live Flow is worth it only if you read flow every trading day. A long-term investor who adjusts a few positions a year will get most of the value from the free tier.
Does OptionStrat have backtesting?
We found no backtesting feature on OptionStrat's features page or plan grid. It models a trade from today forward and tracks saved trades from the day you save them. To see how a repeated options rule performed over past years, you need a backtesting tool built for options history.
Is OptionStrat data real time?
On a paid tier, yes for options and stocks. OptionStrat is a licensed OPRA vendor, and data is delayed 15 minutes by default, with live data included in Live Tools and Live Flow. Futures data is always 15 minutes delayed on every tier because of licensing restrictions.
Can I trade through OptionStrat?
No. OptionStrat says it is intended for researching and planning trades, is not a brokerage, and trades cannot be executed through its software. You build and check the trade in OptionStrat and place the order at your own broker.
