Benzinga Pro pricing, price and cost of Basic, Streamlined and Essential
Benzinga Pro sells three plans. Basic is $37 a month, Streamlined $147 and Essential $197 on monthly billing, and annual billing takes 15% to 17% off. The part most reviews skip is the refund rule: annual payments can be refunded inside 7 days, monthly charges never.

Every Benzinga Pro plan, who it is for, and the honest alternatives at each price
One card per Benzinga Pro plan plus the closest priced alternatives for an active trader, including an honest card for this site.
| Tool | Best for | Price (September 30, 2026) | The honest limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Benzinga Pro Basic | A part-time trader who wants a real-time news feed, movers and watchlist alerts, and nothing else | $37 a month, or $30.58 a month billed annually (about $367 a year) | No advanced newsfeed filters, no scanner, no AI, no signals and no audio squawk. |
| Benzinga Pro Streamlined | A trader who lives in the newsfeed, wants to filter it by price, volume and float, and wants the equity audio squawk | $147 a month, or $124.75 a month billed annually (about $1,497 a year) | Costs about 75% of Essential and has no AI, no scanner, no signals and no calendar. |
| Benzinga Pro Essential | An active day trader or options trader who will use the scanner, signals, calendar and AI every session | $197 a month, or $1,997 a year billed annually | High Beta Squawk is still a $99 a month add-on, and upgrades and cancellations go through support. |
| Trade Ideas | A day trader who wants an AI scanner with built-in backtesting of its scans | About $127 to $254 a month on monthly billing | The AI and backtesting sit on the upper tier, not the price most reviews quote. |
| Unusual Whales | An options trader who wants real-time options flow, dark pool prints and flow alerts | $50, $75 or $120 a month, or $42 to $102 a month billed annually | Unusual Whales says "All sales are final", and flow is not news. |
| TrendSpider | A technical trader who wants automated chart analysis, scanners and no-code strategy backtests | About $54 to $321 a month depending on tier and billing term | Charts and patterns rather than a news feed. Professional users pay a market data surcharge. |
| AgentTrading Analyst | A trader who wants to know whether a news or momentum rule has made money after costs before trading it | $99 a month, or $588 a year. Starter is $49 a month | We do not publish news, squawk or real-time alerts. Keep a news feed for that. |

Benzinga Pro Basic
A part-time trader who wants a real-time news feed, movers and watchlist alerts, and nothing else
Basic adds Nasdaq Basic real-time quotes, the full newsfeed without advanced filtering, chat, movers, watchlist alerts and Benzinga premium articles. It is the cheapest way to get the feed itself.
Benzinga Pro Streamlined
A trader who lives in the newsfeed, wants to filter it by price, volume and float, and wants the equity audio squawk
Benzinga describes it as "advanced filtering but without AI, scanners". For $50 more a month Essential includes everything on this plan and the tools most buyers came for.
Benzinga Pro Essential
An active day trader or options trader who will use the scanner, signals, calendar and AI every session
The FAQ calls it "Everything": Benzinga AI, the Real-Time Scanner, all 7 chat rooms, audio squawk, the calendar suite, Signals and Benzinga Edge research. Buy it annually only after the 14-day trial, because the refund window is 7 days.
Trade Ideas
A day trader who wants an AI scanner with built-in backtesting of its scans
The nearest rival if the scanner, not the news, is what you are buying. Every tier is on our Trade Ideas pricing page.
Unusual Whales
An options trader who wants real-time options flow, dark pool prints and flow alerts
A different signal at a lower price than Essential. Plans, terms and who should buy it are in our Unusual Whales review.
TrendSpider
A technical trader who wants automated chart analysis, scanners and no-code strategy backtests
Every tier and the professional surcharge are on our TrendSpider pricing page.
AgentTrading Analyst
A trader who wants to know whether a news or momentum rule has made money after costs before trading it
Benzinga tells you what is moving. We test what you plan to do about it: type the rule in plain English, and it runs on 20+ years of adjusted daily data with a 0.1% cost per trade, then reports every trade, the drawdown and a plain verdict against buy and hold. Start on the trading strategy tester.

Squawk costs extra

Refunds last 7 days
Annual payments and renewals can be refunded inside 7 days. Monthly charges and discounted intro pricing cannot.
There is no backtest
No plan includes a way to test a trading rule on past data. The feed and scanner are real-time tools.
HOW IT WORKS - 4 STEPS
From a sentence to a stamped verdict
Decide what you are buying
If you want the news feed, Basic at $37 is the product. If you want the scanner, signals and AI, only Essential has them. Streamlined rarely fits either buyer.
Use the full 14-day trial
The trial is 14 days and the refund window after payment is 7. Make the decision inside the trial, not after the charge.
Pick the billing term after the trial
Annual saves about $77 on Basic and about $367 on Essential, and only annual payments are refundable. Monthly is never refundable.
Diarize the renewal
Every account auto-renews. The 7-day refund also applies to renewals, so a reminder a week before the date is worth setting.
Test the rule you will trade
Before paying for faster news, check that the trade you would make on it has an edge after costs. Type it on our trading strategy tester and compare the result with buy and hold.

On the same bench
Benzinga prints its prices on the Benzinga Pro pricing page with an Annual and Monthly toggle. We read both views of that page, its FAQ, and the Benzinga Pro Help Center articles on refunds and cancellation (both dated December 9, 2025) on September 30, 2026. Every figure below is quoted from those pages unless we say otherwise.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing, per month | Annual billing, per year | Saved a year by paying annually |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $37 | $30.58 ("17% off") | About $367 | About $77 |
| Streamlined | $147 | $124.75 ("15% off") | About $1,497 | About $267 |
| Essential | $197 | $166.42 ("16% off") | "$1,997/year" | About $367 |
| High Beta Squawk add-on | $99 | Not shown | Not shown | Listed as "($99/mo Add-On)" on Streamlined and Essential |
The annual per-year figures for Basic and Streamlined are the printed monthly rate times twelve. Essential's is printed by Benzinga in its FAQ: "Essential annual is $166.42/month (billed at $1,997/year) versus $197/month."
Streamlined costs 75% of Essential and leaves out most of what you pay for
On monthly billing Streamlined is $147 and Essential is $197, a gap of $50. For that $50 Essential adds Benzinga AI, the Real-Time Scanner (the FAQ says it monitors "3,000+ stocks"), Signals, the Market Events Calendar, Insiders, the full trading community and Benzinga Edge research, which the page values at "$199/year". Streamlined adds only the advanced newsfeed filters (price, volume, float) and the equity audio squawk over Basic. Benzinga's own plan guide describes Streamlined as "advanced filtering but without AI, scanners". Unless you know you will never open a scanner, the middle plan is the one to skip: either Basic for the feed or Essential for the platform.
The refund window is 7 days, and it does not cover monthly billing
The help center refund article says an annual subscriber who is dissatisfied "within the first 7 days of payment" can terminate and is "eligible for a full refund of your payment". Its footnote sets the limits: "The 7-day period for refunds also applies to renewals. It does not apply to monthly charges or discounted intro pricing." The same article states that "all Benzinga Pro accounts are set to auto-renew". The trial is 14 days, twice the refund window, so the practical rule is to use the whole trial before you pay and to diarize the renewal date on the day you buy.
Upgrades and cancellations go through a person
The pricing FAQ says you upgrade from Basic or Streamlined to Essential "by contacting our support team" by email or phone. The cancellation article says to email [email protected] or use the chat bubble, while the refund article also points to the billing section of your account page. Plan for a message, not a button, and keep the written confirmation.
What Benzinga Pro does not do
None of the three plan lists includes a backtest. Signals, the scanner and the squawk tell you what is moving now. They do not tell you whether a rule you would trade on that news, such as buying a stock that gaps up 5% on earnings and holding five days, has made money after costs over past years. Benzinga's own site disclaimer says its content is "for educational and entertainment purposes only" and that "PAST PERFORMANCE IS NOT NECESSARILY INDICATIVE OF FUTURE RESULTS". Testing the rule is the job of a trading strategy tester, and the news-driven day-trading case is covered on our AI day trading page.
How Benzinga Pro compares with a real-time options flow service at a similar monthly price is in our Unusual Whales review.
QUESTIONS - ASKED AND ANSWERED
Benzinga Pro pricing: the common questions
How much does Benzinga Pro cost?
Benzinga Pro costs $37 a month for Basic, $147 a month for Streamlined and $197 a month for Essential on monthly billing. On annual billing the rates are $30.58, $124.75 and $166.42 a month, which is about $367, $1,497 and $1,997 a year. High Beta Squawk is a $99 a month add-on.
How much is Benzinga Pro per month?
Benzinga Pro is $37, $147 or $197 per month on monthly billing, depending on the plan. Paying annually lowers the effective monthly price to $30.58, $124.75 or $166.42, a discount Benzinga labels 15% to 17%. The pricing page we read on September 30, 2026 showed no intro discount on top of that.
Does Benzinga Pro have a free trial?
Yes. The pricing page offers "Benzinga Pro free for 14 days" and the FAQ says you still get the 14-day free trial with annual plans. Because the refund window after payment is only 7 days, use the full trial to decide rather than relying on a refund.
Can I get a refund from Benzinga Pro?
Only on annual payments, and only within 7 days. The Help Center says an annual subscriber who terminates within the first 7 days of payment gets a full refund, and that the 7-day period also applies to renewals. It does not apply to monthly charges or discounted intro pricing.
How do I cancel Benzinga Pro?
Email [email protected] or use the chat bubble in the Help Center, according to Benzinga's cancellation article dated December 9, 2025. The refund article also mentions the billing section of your account page. Cancel before the next billing cycle, because every account is set to auto-renew.
What is the difference between Benzinga Pro Basic and Essential?
Basic at $37 a month is the real-time newsfeed with quotes, movers, chat and watchlist alerts. Essential at $197 a month adds Benzinga AI, the Real-Time Scanner, Signals, the calendar suite, insider data, the full community and Benzinga Edge research. Benzinga says the AI is available only on Essential.
Is Benzinga Pro Streamlined worth it?
For most buyers, no. Streamlined costs $147 a month, about 75% of Essential, but has no AI, no scanner, no signals and no calendar. It suits a trader who only wants to filter the newsfeed by price, volume and float and hear the equity squawk. Everyone else should compare Basic with Essential.
Is Benzinga Pro worth it?
Benzinga Pro is worth it for an active trader who trades news catalysts during the session and will use the feed or scanner daily. It is weak value for a long-term investor, who pays $37 to $197 a month for speed they do not need. Check first that your news-driven trade has an edge after costs.
Does Benzinga Pro have backtesting?
No. None of the Basic, Streamlined or Essential feature lists includes a backtest. Signals, the scanner and the squawk are real-time tools. To see whether a rule such as buying an earnings gap-up has worked historically, you need a separate backtesting tool.
