Zacks Premium

Premium is the product most people mean by a Zacks subscription. You get the full #1 Rank List, Style Scores, research reports on more than 1,000 widely followed stocks, the Earnings ESP filter, the 50-stock Focus List and more than 45 Premium Screens. At about $20.75 a month it is one of the cheaper paid research plans in the category.
Zacks Investor Collection
Someone who wants model portfolios to follow for the long term rather than a list to research
The bundle adds the real-time buy and sell signals from the long-term portfolios, including Stocks Under $10, which Zacks says is not sold on its own. Each of those portfolios lists at $299 a year, so the bundle pays for itself if you would have bought one of them.
Zacks Ultimate
An active trader who wants every Zacks portfolio and alert, including the trading services
Ultimate is everything Zacks publishes, including the trading services closed to new investors. Its value depends entirely on whether you will act on that volume of signals. Most investors who research slowly and hold for years will not.
Zacks Research Wizard
A do-it-yourself screener who wants to test screens on Zacks data
Research Wizard is the only Zacks product that backtests. It tests screens, so it answers which stocks a set of criteria would have picked and how they did, with weekly rebalancing in the showcase strategies.

If you research your own stocks and want a quantitative second opinion, Premium at $249 is the plan. If you want portfolios to follow, compare Investor Collection at $495 with the single $299 newsletter you actually want.
Use the 30 days on your own holdings
Check the Rank and the Style Scores on the stocks you already own and the ones on your watchlist. If you do not open the #1 Rank List in the first month, you will not open it in the year.
Diarize the charge before you start
Put the trial end date in your calendar the day you sign up. For Ultimate, count your past trials first, since a fourth converts to $299 a month.
Ask about refunds in writing
The terms we read name a refund guarantee only for Ultimate Lifetime. If a sales page promises more on your plan, keep a copy.
Test the rule before money follows it

The math between the tiers matters more than any one number. Investor Collection costs $246 a year more than Premium and carries six portfolios that list at $299 each, so if you would buy even one of those newsletters, the bundle is the cheaper way to get it. Ultimate is priced for a different buyer altogether: at $299 a month it is $3,588 a year if you pay monthly, and third-party reviews report an annual price of $2,995, which we could not find printed on a Zacks page.
The fourth Ultimate trial converts itself
The $1 Ultimate month is generous and Zacks limits it. The terms of service say "Ultimate Trials are limited to 3 per customer" and that "Customers that accidentally take a fourth trial will be converted into a $299 monthly subscription for their convenience." If you have trialled Ultimate before, count before you click.
The Zacks Rank return is a hypothetical portfolio, in Zacks' own words
Every Zacks sales page carries the same headline: since 1988 the Zacks Rank "has more than doubled the S&P 500 with an average gain of +23.80% per year". The performance disclosure, updated August 3, 2026, explains the number. It is "the equal weighted performance of a hypothetical portfolio" of #1 Rank stocks, rebalanced monthly to 2013 and weekly since. Then comes the sentence that should sit next to the headline and does not: "These returns are not achievable with actual portfolios". Zacks says they are higher than an investor could get with real money because they exclude "commissions incurred for trading, the average bid ask spread, the price impact of the trading". The Focus List figures are likewise equal weighted and "assuming zero transaction costs".
That does not make the Rank useless. Earnings estimate revisions are one of the better documented effects in finance, and Zacks built the Rank on them. It means the 23.80% is the ceiling of a signal, not the return of a subscriber. The only way to know what a Rank-based rule would have returned for you is to test it with costs, which is what our trading strategy tester does.
Research Wizard is the only Zacks product that backtests, and its own pages disagree on how far
Research Wizard screens more than 10,000 stocks on over 650 data items and backtests the screens. The Zacks offer page says you can retrieve data "going as far back as 12 years". The Research Wizard site says "Backtest over 17 years of data". Its showcase strategy returns "assume weekly rebalancing". The lifetime offer we read on September 28, 2026 listed an "Institutional Price: $20,000", a "Regular Lifetime Price: $6,995" and "Today's Lifetime Price: $2,995", and said the price ended "TONIGHT, September 28". Reviews report an annual licence around $1,800, which Zacks did not show us.
