Quiver Quantitative is worth paying for if congressional trades, insider filings or government contract awards are part of how you pick ideas, and you are trading your own money. Premium is $25 a month and the entry API plan is also $25 a month billed annually. It is a poor buy for anyone who plans to use the data for clients or a business, and it is not a way to learn whether a signal has made money.
We read the Quiver API pricing page, the company's own Premium versus API comparison and the website terms of use on November 4, 2026. Quotes below come from those pages. Where a figure is our arithmetic, we say so. We did not subscribe, so this review covers what you pay and what the contract says, not how the signals perform.
Quiver Quantitative pricing
Quiver is sold as two products that are billed separately. Premium is the website. The API is raw data you pull into code, a spreadsheet or an AI assistant. The company says plainly that Premium does not include an API key and an API key does not unlock the website features.
| Product and plan | Price shown | Billing | Who it is licensed for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | $25 a month, or $300 a year | Website subscription, free tier for live dashboards | Personal, non-commercial use |
| API Hobbyist | $25 a month | Billed annually, "Save $60 a year" | "No Commercial Use Rights" |
| API Trader | $62.50 a month | Billed annually, "Save $150 a year" | "No Commercial Use Rights" |
| API Startup | $208.33 a month, $104.17 with the first-year discount | Billed annually | Commercial rights, companies under $1 million in revenue only |
| API Enterprise | Contact for pricing | Quoted | Commercial rights for larger organizations |
The full plan list with the datasets in each tier is on Quiver Quantitative pricing. The short version: Trader costs 2.5 times Hobbyist, and the difference buys insider trading, hedge fund activity, top shareholders, patents, executive compensation and app ratings, plus all 18 of the MCP tools against 10 on Hobbyist.
What you get for the money
Premium gives you dashboards for every Quiver dataset, a pre-market alerts email on new filings, a stock screener, politician portfolios and a leaderboard, a watchlist, data export, and two no-code backtesters, one built on congressional trading data and one on institutional holdings. It also carries Quiver Strategies, backtested strategies built on the company's own datasets. The API hands you the same underlying records without the finished charts, and its MCP server lets an AI assistant query them in plain English at no extra charge.
For the money that is a broad set of public-record data, organized well. Most of it is filings that anyone can find at the source, so you are paying for assembly and speed, not for secret information. That is a fair thing to pay $25 a month for, as long as you are honest that it is a convenience purchase.
The terms a buyer should read first
| Question | What the terms state |
|---|---|
| Can I cancel and get a refund? | The subscription is "non-cancellable, except as otherwise set forth in these Terms of Use". No refund policy is stated in the terms |
| Does it renew automatically? | Yes, "at the end of each Billing Cycle, your subscription will automatically renew" unless you cancel it |
| How do I stop renewal? | Through the online account management page, or by contacting Quiver |
| Can prices change? | Yes, "without notice", charged "when your current subscription renews" |
| Can I use the data commercially? | No. Quiver Data is "licensed for your personal, non-commercial use only", and personal securities trading is not counted as commercial |
| Can I redistribute it? | No. You may not "redistribute, republish, resell, sublicense, broadcast, or otherwise make Quiver Data available to any third party" |
| Is it investment advice? | No. The content is "for informational purposes of a general nature only" |
Two things stand out. First, annual billing is paid up front on a subscription the terms call non-cancellable, so the sensible order is to start on the free tier, then take the shortest period you can, and commit to a year only after you have used it for weeks. Second, the licence is personal. If you are an advisor, you run a newsletter or you paste signals into a client chat, you are on the wrong plan, and the terms allow Quiver to end your access for unauthorized redistribution. Keeping track of where each number came from and which filing version it reflects matters here, and the same discipline applies to any dataset behind a decision, as tracing a number back to its source filing shows.
Things to know about the strategies
Quiver Strategies are the part that looks most like an answer, so read the fine print. Quiver offers investing in selected strategies through Quantbase, an SEC-registered investment adviser, and states that a separate Quantbase fee applies. It also states that it receives a share of the fees Quantbase charges on its strategies, so it has a financial interest when you choose them. The site footer carries a further disclosure that a brokerage pays Quiver compensation to recommend its services. None of that is hidden, but it means the strategy track records are partly marketing for a paid product.
Is Quiver Quantitative worth $25 a month
As a yearly bill, Premium or Hobbyist costs $300 and Trader costs $750 (our arithmetic from the printed monthly rates billed annually). If you follow congressional disclosures or insider buying anyway, $300 is small beside a position of a few thousand dollars, and the time saved collecting filings is real. If you are a casual reader curious about what politicians trade, the free tier covers most of what you will look at.
The trap is paying for the data and treating it as a rule. Congressional trades are filed after the fact, often weeks later, so the price may have moved before you see them. Whether buying after a filing has paid across years, after costs, against simply holding the index, is a separate question the dataset cannot answer by itself.
What Quiver does not do
Quiver gives you data, rankings and its own strategies. It does not tell you whether the rule you personally intend to trade has held up across bull and bear markets with your costs. You can find that out in a few minutes before you pay for a subscription built around the idea. Describe the setup in plain English on our backtesting software, for example buying after a cluster of insider purchases and selling after sixty days, and it runs the rule on 20+ years of adjusted daily data with costs on every trade, with a verdict against buy and hold. Options structures run on the Analyst plan, covered in options backtesting. AgentTrading does not sell filings data, send alerts or place orders, and it gives no personalized advice. The Starter plan is $49 a month, or $288 a year, bought online.
Who should buy Quiver
Buy it if you trade your own account, you build ideas from public filings, and you want them organized in one place. Start with the free tier, then Premium or Hobbyist, and move to Trader only if you need the insider and fund data. Skip it if you need commercial rights without a quote, if you need a refund safety net, or if you hope the data will hand you a strategy. To price the other subscriptions traders weigh in the same range, see Unusual Whales pricing and the InsiderFinance review.
