FlowAlgo is worth paying for if you trade options during market hours, want sweeps, blocks and dark pool prints in one feed, and will commit to the annual plan at $1,188 a year. On the monthly plan it costs $149 a month after a $37 two-week trial, which makes it the most expensive of the large options flow services. It never refunds a charge, it has no backtesting, and its dark pool data arrives late by design.

We read FlowAlgo's home page, its plan selection page and its terms of service and refund policy on October 24, 2026 in a rendered browser. Quotes below come from those pages. Where a figure is our arithmetic, we say so. We did not subscribe, so this review covers what you pay for and what the vendor commits to in writing, not a week of live use.

The last two columns are ours. The home page shows the monthly price as "$199" struck through to "$149/month", and both pages say the trial offer "ends Dec 31st" without a year. The footer still reads "© 2017 FlowAlgo LLC". A footnote on the plan page adds that "Price is subject to change at any time for new subscribers."

How much does FlowAlgo cost?

FlowAlgo costs $37 for a two-week trial, then $149 a month on the monthly plan. The quarterly plan is $387 every three months ($129 a month) and the annual plan is $1,188 a year ($99 a month). All three plans include the same features. There is no free tier, and every plan, including the trial, auto-renews until you cancel.

The plan page says "All plans are all-inclusive", and the feature lists under the three plans are identical: real-time option order flow, equity block and dark pool order data, "Alpha Ai Signals", "Dark Pool Insights", on-demand historical data, FlowAlgo Levels, day recaps, voice alerts, smart highlighting and filtering, a trader chatroom and top open interest changes. So the only decision is how long you commit for, and the annual plan costs $600 less than twelve monthly payments.

Is the $37 FlowAlgo trial worth taking?

Yes, if you go in with a plan. Two weeks is ten trading sessions, which is enough to learn whether you will open the feed every morning. Three rules in the terms shape how to use it. The trial bills automatically: "If you are under trial period, you will be billed at the end of your trial unless cancelled." You get "ONE trial period per 6 month period", and the system checks for repeat sign-ups. And to stop a renewal "you must cancel 24 hours prior to your renewal date", so a cancellation on the last day of the trial is too late.

Put a reminder two days before day 14. If you decide to keep it, it is worth asking support whether the trial can roll into the annual plan, because the plan page shows the trial only under the monthly plan.

Does FlowAlgo offer refunds?

No. Section 4 of the terms is titled "DIGITAL GOODS (NO REFUND POLICY)" and says: "we do not issue refunds", "All sales are final", and "You cannot cancel a purchase or receive a refund for a purchase." You can cancel future renewals from the account settings page, but "Any payments that have already been processed are non-refundable." That applies to the $1,188 annual charge as much as to the $37 trial.

That is stricter than the competition. Cheddar Flow's April 2026 refund policy allows a self-service refund within 48 hours of a charge, and Unusual Whales lets you swap a wrong plan within 7 days. On FlowAlgo the annual saving is real, but so is the risk of paying for a year you stop using in March.

How fast is FlowAlgo's data?

FlowAlgo states its own delays in footnotes, which is more candid than most vendors. Real-time option data "may be delayed anywhere from 500ms up to 15s depending on a variety of factors". Equity block and print data "is delayed up to 20 minutes due to exchange regulations". Dark pool prints arrive when the trade is reported to FINRA's Alternative Display Facility, "which may be a few hours later, the next day", or the following Monday for a Friday trade.

Those delays are not a FlowAlgo flaw. Off-exchange trades are reported late for everyone. But they change how the product should be used: a dark pool print is a reference level for the next session, not a signal to act on in the minute it appears. Historical data goes back to FlowAlgo's "beta preview release" in June 2017, which gives about nine years of past flow to look up.

Rules that come with the subscription

The terms are strict about sharing. Simultaneous logins from multiple locations "auto-lock your account for up to a 24-hour period as required by our data provider agreements." Scraping or extracting data "for use in any external applications including but not limited to Discord, Slack, and Twitter" is banned, and FlowAlgo says legal action may follow redistribution. The chatroom rules forbid members to "promote, share, discuss, or suggest the use of competing services", so do not expect an honest comparison in there. Liability is capped at what you paid in the previous twelve months and "in no case" more than $1,000.

On price alone FlowAlgo loses at every level. Its annual plan costs $297 more than Cheddar Flow Pro Annual and $684 more than Unusual Whales Retail Basic for a year. What it offers in return is simplicity: one plan, everything included, and a feed built around sweeps, blocks and dark pool prints rather than dashboards. Our Cheddar Flow pricing page and BlackBoxStocks pricing page set out those plans in full, and the Cheddar Flow vs Unusual Whales comparison covers the two cheaper services head to head.

Does FlowAlgo have backtesting?

No. We found no backtesting feature on FlowAlgo's pages or in its plan list. On-demand historical data lets you look up what printed on a past day, and the day recaps summarize a session, but FlowAlgo does not run a trading rule across past years and tell you whether it made money. Its own disclaimer says it "is solely a data-provider and not a stock picks alert service."

That gap is the one to close before paying $1,188. Most flow-following ideas reduce to a rule, such as buying the stock the day after an unusually large call sweep, or selling puts at a level where dark pool prints clustered. Whether that rule has worked is a historical question. Our backtesting software runs a stock rule you describe in one sentence across 20+ years of adjusted daily data, with costs on every trade, and stamps it held up, mixed or underperformed against buy and hold. Options rules, such as a fixed-delta put sale, run on options backtesting on the Analyst plan at $99 a month. We do not sell flow, alerts or a chatroom, and we place no trades.

And if what you actually want is a list of stocks moving before the open rather than option prints, a dedicated real-time scanner for gappers and momentum names does that job more cheaply than any flow service.

Who should pay for FlowAlgo

Pay for it if you trade short-dated options or momentum stocks most sessions, you want sweeps and blocks highlighted without building filters, and you already know you will use it all year. In that case take the $37 trial, decide by day 12, and buy the annual plan at $1,188 rather than paying $149 a month. Skip it if you are price-sensitive, since Unusual Whales covers real-time flow for $504 a year. Skip it if you need a refund safety net, because FlowAlgo has none. And skip it if you hold positions for weeks, because a feed of intraday prints is a session tool.

Before you pay any flow service, test the rule you expect to trade from it. One sentence on the Starter plan at $49 a month answers whether the idea has held up over two decades.
